Hartley Wood Interiors, is a small well established company offering high quality service in the manufacture and installation of bespoke hand-crafted fitted furniture for all locations in the home. From a location near Alton in Hampshire the company is well positioned to service clients in the South East of England.

Inspired by a tradition of British and American design the company has undertaken commissions for clients in a wide range of designs and furniture styles. Our designer will look at the style and individuality of your home to give inspiration to the design of selected rooms.

When you invite us to quote our designer will visit you to discuss your requirements and listen to your ideas prior to preparing a design and quotation. Designs of your furniture will be drawn to scale using AutoCAD software and then presented on A3 paper with a clearly defined specification sheet and quotation.

As part of our service we will undertake the full installation of the furniture and use specialists to carry out any electrical or plumbing work.

At Hartley Wood we believe that each craftsman is an expert in his own field and as such is employed in his specialist area. An extensive part of our work involves hand painted finishes and to this end we employ expert painters trained in these techniques.
Prior to manufacture our product manager will carry out a final site survey and meet with the client to confirm and discuss the final details of the furniture and the timing of the installation so that the project will be carried out to his complete satisfaction.

	Our Background & History
	Hartley Wood Interiors is owned by Mike and Barbara Hughes both of whom have a background in education. Mike Hughes taught design and technology while Barbara Hughes was a specialist in home economics. The business was started in 1980 as a part time activity by Mike Hughes and a colleague while he continued his teaching career, it then became a full time occupation for Mike in 1985. During the early years all manufacturing, fitting and selling was a single handed responsibility but by 1985 the business had expanded and additional staff were employed. All design work is undertaken personally by Mike Hughes following a detailed discussion with the customer and executed using a specialist AutoCad computerised design system. All designs are individually tailored to meet specific customer requirements. Hartley Wood Interiors has been resident at Hartley Business Park for over 12 years and now employs 10 full time staff together with sub-contract plumbing and electrical specialists. Exclusivity, individuality, custom design, premium quality and personal service remain the key raison d'être for Hartley Wood Interiors.
