The best way to bring interior design that reflects our true personality is to take stock of our favourite things such as garden plants, trees & shrubs. We can gain huge enjoyment from the colours of nature. Take the beautiful cornflowers for example, they are a stunning blue, with such a clarity that one can say instantly, oh, that’s cornflower blue. I like to have a lot of pale cream furnishings around me but with various colours picked out – these might be florals on the soft furnishings and maybe a toning cushion or bolster cover. I do know someone who has pale grey upholstery with one chair in a deep blue shade and pale greay and deep blue cushions and curtains It looks stunning and in fact, is where I p9inched the idea for my bedroom. It’s important to think about the space available to be decorated too – it’s not a good idea to have a flambouyant display in somewhere rather pokey without any natural light. In fact, light is critical to all forms of interior design.
