Isn’t it funny how we always look back to how our parents decorated their house and although we say we never want to have ours like that, we invariably end up with a similar regime in the long run. I know a couple who have bought their dream house in the country – a stone conversion that affords lovely views and has farmland surrounding it. it also has a steep pantiled roof, small windows upstairs that are half way down the walls, one nearly at floor level – because the bedroom floors have been inserted into what used to be a chapel balcony area. The modern bathrooms and ensuite to the master bedroom has created peace and tranquility for the adults in the house after the children are bathed, scrubbed down and generally made ready for bed. Sounds identical to a certain cottage not a million miles away, where the parents of one of the owners, resides !
